The Bamburgh Flock was established in 2008 with 20 ewe lambs from the Sydling Estate near Dorchester. These females encompass all of the notable genealogy of the Poll Dorset breed.
Top quality rams were purchased and a selective breeding programme was embarked upon in conjunction with the Signet performance recording scheme.
High health status was insured by operating a closed flock, only bringing in accredited rams. The Bamburgh flock is both MV accredited and Scrapie monitored by the Scottish agricultural colleges.
We strive to produce quality breeding stock only selecting the best performers in both confirmation, carcase quality and maternal characteristics; such as fecundity and milking ability.
